The Right to Refuse Service

Here is another fine example of the things people do to build business...or not. I have NO CLUE what may have happened to cause a store owner to spend a few hundred dollars on such a neon sign as this one in Pryor, OK over the front doors. I'm not sure if he defines a crybaby as "complainer" or "immature kid" or actual babies that are crying!

How do you like YOUR water?

Some bypassers probably believe this is really three different temperature tanks. I'm sure it's been done elsewhere, but these are in Bartlesville, OK. So, I was thinking...it's time for another CONTEST! Send me any original photo that you have taken of unique water tank decor. I will post them all and give you credit, then choose a winner for the most original water tanks--okay, fuel tanks count as well. I know somewhere in Missouri there is three painted like Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite cans. Send photos to mr_alphabet@hotmail.com by October 15, 2006.

Trademark Infringement?

Will the real Bass Pro please step forward?
The one on the bottom is in Chetopa, KS...the one just above it is in Tulsa, OK.
You don't think there was anything intentional here, do you?

Thy Home is Thy Castle

Someone took the phrase just a little too literally! This place (south OKC) was huge! It was sitting on about five or six acres in a rural suburban single family residential neighborhood.

Home Based Business

I was amazed at the definition of "Home Based Business" according to Oklahoma City. Almost all the way along west 23rd and west 46th (and other streets I suppose) there is home after home converted into an office or retail store. And many that were still residences were for sale...by the realtor in the house down the block! This actually appears to be the result of a boom thirty or forty years ago, but I wonder how everyone got together and decided NOT to put up new commercial structures? In your average city situation, the houses would have been sold and moved or buldozed to make way for new offices or strip centers.

Flipped!

You may have to stare at this for a couple minutes to figure out what's wrong. This was on the strip in South Padre, when we were on vacation in July. I guess it worked, because it caught my eye.

Back in the day....

The original moving message board was not LED, LCD or mounted on a trailer. It was mounted on a VW bug! Incidently, when he left the shop this morning, there really was some letters on each side! Imagine that, where could they have gone? Just kidding...but this is parked in Fort Scott, Kansas and probably doesn't run.

Texas Toast...

I will take the blame for inserting the orange "Longhorn" logo in the photo on the center bridge support, but look closely at the others. Is the design of these concrete pillars intentionally made to look like a Texas Longhorn? This bridge IS in Texas, by the way.

Get Lucky Tonight!

Some things just don't belong together. It just seems wrong for "Lucky" and "Used Cars" to be in the same name. Buying a used car is a gamble most of the time anyway, but chance just shouldn't be suggested. Perhaps a better option would be "Lemons-R-Us"?
